IAT Insurance Hires Senior Vice President 

IAT Insurance Group announced the appointment of Joseph R. Smith as senior vice president, property and inland marine claims.

Prior to his appointment, Smith spent 25 years at Chubb, most recently serving as senior vice president, field property claim leader. In this role, he was responsible for managing a 225-person team that handled thousands of both personal and commercial claims every year.

“Joe has an outstanding reputation in our industry and will provide us with excellent leadership for our growing property and inland marine claims teams,” said Krista L. Glenn, IAT’s chief claims officer.

“We are looking forward to seeing what his extensive experience brings to IAT.”

Westchester Announces Promotion of Thomas McLaughlin

Thomas McLaughlin, executive vice president, casualty practice, Westchester

Westchester, the wholesale excess and surplus insurance business for Chubb, promoted Thomas McLaughlin to the role of executive vice president of its casualty practice.

In this role, McLaughlin will be responsible for “oversight of product and business development, underwriting operations and profit and loss performance,” a press release announcing the appointment said.

McLaughlin brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his new role. He joined Westchester in 2019 as senior vice president, COO and Northeast regional manager for the casualty division.

“Tom has the ideal background for leading our casualty unit,” said Scott Meyer, senior vice president, Chubb group, division president of Westchester.

“His experience and a proven track record in excess and surplus lines, specifically in the areas of underwriting, wholesale distribution and executive leadership, coupled with his outstanding reputation among wholesale brokers make him a perfect fit for this role.”

One Inc Names Chief Information Officer

Elizabeth Hoemeke, chief information officer, One Inc

One Inc hired Elizabeth Hoemeke as chief information officer.

In this role, Hoemeke will be responsible for the oversight of One Inc’s global IT initiatives, strategic planning and technological advancements.

Hoemeke brings more than 20 years of experience to her role with One Inc.

Prior to her appointment, she served as senior vice president of enterprise engineering and technology strategy at U.S. Bank.

One Inc executive chairman Ian Drysdale said, “Elizabeth’s visionary approach and technology skills have driven breakthrough innovations throughout her career. We are thrilled to welcome her to the One Inc family.”

Beazley Announces New Chief Operating Officer

Troy Dehmann, chief operating officer, Beazley

Beazley announced the appointment of Troy Dehmann as chief operations officer.

Dehmann brings 20 years of finance, operations and business leadership experience to Beazley.

He most recently served as the global COO of finance operations and core finance for HSBC.

Prior to that he spent seven years at HSBC serving in several different roles.

Beazley CEO Adrian Cox said, “Troy’s deep experience in building operational excellence and driving transformation within the finance sector will be invaluable.”

Player’s Health Names President of Insurance

Naveen Anand, president of insurance, Player’s Health

Player’s Health hired Naveen Anand as president of insurance.

In this new role, Anand will lead Player’s Health insurance strategy and growth.

Additionally, he will also join Player’s Health’s board of directors.

Anand brings over 30 years of experience in the North American property and casualty insurance industry to his role with Player’s Health. He most recently served as the president and CEO of Hallmark Financial Services, Inc.

“The addition of Naveen to our team is invaluable,” said Tyrre Burks, Player’s Health founder and chief executive officer.
