Thank You for Making National Comp 2023 a Success!

Michelle Kerr is Workers’ Compensation Editor and National Conference Chair for Risk & Insurance. She can be reached at [email protected].

A heartfelt thank you to every member of the National Comp community, attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and staff, as well as the staff of Mandalay Bay — my appreciation to one and all for an incredible event.

I’d like to thank the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation for another incredible pre-conference event, and Andrea Dosedla of Quad for leading our very first pre-conference workshop.

A very big thanks to Natasha Bowman for bringing her message to our keynote stage this week — I hope it’s given us all much to reflect on as we each rejoin our own workforces.

I can’t leave out the Spazmatics. Shout-out to the band for a great night of ‘80s grooves and laughter; it’s one I won’t forget. Happy to say I was never “Dancing with Myself.”

Please stick around for the final day of conference programming. Perennial favorite 60 Tips in 60 Minutes will kick off the day with its unique blend of education and humor, followed by Women Leaders Across the Industry: Optimizing Results Through Innovation, a powerful discussion featuring Caty Wynn of Whole Foods Market, Jennifer Jones of Cranfill Sumner, Caryn Siebert of Gallagher Bassett, Jodi Loud of The Hartford and Sheri Lawrence of SoCalGas. You won’t want to miss it.

No doubt, you’ve made incredible connections this week, and are traveling home with a notebook full of thoughts and ideas to implement in the year ahead. I’m traveling home with dozens of ideas for making next year’s conference even better, and I have you to thank for it.

Please keep the input coming! I hope you took a few moments to share your feedback with us through the conference app. Your input and suggestions help the Advisory Committee steer future programming and features.

Stay in touch with conference content throughout the year by subscribing to Risk & Insurance’s WorkersComp Forum.

And if you’d like to join us next year as a speaker, check the National Comp website in January for information about the National Comp 2024 Request for Proposals.

Safe trip home, everyone. I’m already looking forward to seeing you next year. &
