Carlos Rivera Appointed as CEO of Marsh McLennan Latin America and Caribbean

Marsh McLennan announced the appointment of Carlos Rivera as CEO of Marsh McLennan Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and President of Marsh LAC, effective January 1, 2025. Rivera will be based in Bogota, Colombia, succeeding Ricardo Brockmann, who will become Chairman of Marsh McLennan LAC.

“Carlos has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by businesses and communities across the LAC region,” said Flavio Piccolomini, CEO of Marsh McLennan International. “His knowledge of the regional and international risk and insurance markets, and his leadership over two decades at Marsh, will be key to providing our clients with the confidence they need to grow and thrive sustainably.”

Rivera brings 24 years of experience in the global (re)insurance market to his new role. He began his career at Marsh Colombia in 2001, later serving as a reinsurance broker for Bowring Marsh in London. Since 2020, he has been CEO of Marsh McLennan’s Carpenter Marsh FAC, the regional leader in facultative reinsurance.

In his new roles, Rivera will be responsible for Marsh McLennan’s regional strategy, focusing on delivering greater client value from across the firm’s businesses, with a particular focus on Marsh, its insurance broking and risk advisory business. &
