Marsh Broker Regina Adler Recognized as a 2024 Construction Power Broker
Regina Adler, U.S. Construction Claim Leader, Marsh
Regina Adler is the kind of broker who establishes a complex construction claims team specifically to support construction clients with large, complex claims.
Just weeks before a trial date, international contractor Lendlease contacted Adler because it needed to defend a large claim. Lendlease was dealing with excess carriers that, though they’d been given notice, had not been monitoring the case, had not done a full investigation and were unprepared to help settle the case. Adler’s team got the excess carriers to put up significant funds in a short time. Her team also determined that the primary carrier had not been pursuing appropriate risk transfer opportunities.
By taking control of case management, Adler’s team successfully brought the subcontractors’ carriers to the table and, after some intense negotiations, realized the case’s satisfactory conclusion.
“Regina reset the strategy and turned what was an adversarial circumstance into a proactive settlement negotiation, which landed favorably for us,” said Kevin Bates, group head of risk and insurance at Lendlease. “Her creativity in crafting this strategy allowed the settlement to occur.”
Adler’s success in serving her clients’ needs revolves around the importance of understanding the first principles of insurance policies, the wording of the specific policy or policies at issue, and the approach and case-law of the jurisdiction.
