Aon Broker Sandra Gulick Recognized as a 2023 Manufacturing Power Broker
Sandra Gulick, Director, Aon
Last year was a challenging one for many companies placing insurance programs, which gave Sandra Gulick the chance to stand out.
On Gulick’s advice, one client, a Japanese-owned robotics company, severed ties with its lead excess carrier of 25 years after it indicated it would be cutting its capacity nearly in half.
Gulick’s recommendation to restructure and remarket the entire casualty program paid off for the client, who benefited from such options as improved terms and conditions and a two-year rate commitment from its new carrier.
The newly structured program delivered more than $425,000 in premium savings.
Throughout a long career, Gulick has strived to provide high-quality service, innovative solutions and up-to-date information for her clients.
She meets on a weekly basis with carrier representatives, underwriters and various service providers to maintain strong relationships and stay abreast of changes in the marketplace.
Such guidance and expertise is appreciated by Scott Cieslak, chief financial officer for Detroit Manufacturing Systems, who likes knowing what trends or challenges may affect his company.
“Sandy has been through multiple business cycles in her career,” Cieslak said, “and she uses that [knowledge] to help guide the customer and educate us on what is going on, the drivers behind the movements in the industry and what may come in the future.”
