Weil, Gotshal & Manges Adds Kevin J. Sullivan to Practice

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP recently announced the addition of Kevin J. Sullivan as a partner in the practice’s global corporate department.

Sullivan joins Weil with over 20 years of industry experience, specifically in working with public companies and private equity sponsors. Prior to joining Weil, he served as managing director at Aon PLC, a role he also served in with Marsh & McLennan.

“Kevin’s practice focuses on complex insurance issues that arise in private equity, M&A, restructuring and other contexts,” said Weil executive partner Barry Wolf. “His expertise will make him a great addition to the firm.”

Europ Assistance Groups Announces Two Appointments

Europ Assistance Group appointed as chief of human resources and organization and a member of the group management committee. Gennaro Bisesti has been named group head of auto.

Véronique Destruel, chief of human resources and organization, Europ Assistance

In her roles, Destruel will be responsible for developing strategy and managing both human resources and internal communication activities. She most recently served as head of organization and transformation at HRBP.

Antoine Parisi, group CEO of Europ Assistance said, “Véronique is the right person to take on this role and she is a valuable addition to our Management Team. Thanks to her digital, organizational and managerial skills she will play a key role in guiding Europ Assistance through the transformation of the new ways of working.

In his new role as group head of auto, Bisesti will be responsible for the oversight of Europ Assistance’s auto product line. He most recently served as the chief operating officer and chief auto officer for Europ Assistance Italia.

Ryan Specialty Group Names New Leadership in Transportation Practice

Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) announced the appointment of Doug Hathaway as head of national transportation practice and their commercial transport program, Interstate Insurance Management.

Additionally, Dennis Beecher has been named president of RT Specialty, located in Johnstown, PA.

Eduard Alpin, chief actuary, Resilience

Resilience Names Eduard Alpin Chief Actuary

Resilience Insurance recently announced the hiring of Eduard Alpin as chief actuary.

Alpin brings a wide range of risk management and actuarial experience to his new role with Resilience. Prior to his appointment, he served as the director or cyber solutions at Verisk Analytics.

“As we continue on a path of profitable growth, we’re elated that Eduard will be joining Resilience as Chief Actuary,” said Mario Vitale, CEO of Resilience.

“He brings a high level of knowledge and experience to the cyber space and will be a key asset in delivering effective solutions to our customers.”

Medata Names Jonathan Nutt Chief Technology Officer

Medata recently named Jonathan Nutt as chief technology officer.

In this role, Nutt will be responsible for developing both various product enhancements and new solutions.

Prior to joining Medata, Nutt worked with American International Group (AIG) as head of medical management. He had worked with AIG since 1995 and brings executive leadership experience to Medata.

“The selection of Nutt has brought new perspective and excitement to the leadership team,” said Thomas Herndon, president of Medata.

Additionally, Nutt will work alongside Sandy Blunt, COO of Medata, to continue Medata’s initiative of providing technological services to the cost containment market.
