IMA Inc. Adds New Marine and Energy Leadership to Its Houston Team

IMA Inc. hired Katie McCord, Jason Homrighaus and Allyn Roberts to join its energy and marine brokerage.

“It is rare to find three leaders of this caliber, with experience on both the carrier and broker sides of the industry,” said IMA Inc. president, Bob Reiter.

Although McCord, Homrighaus and Roberts have different backgrounds and previously worked at different firms, they have been collaborating for nearly a decade, according to a press release.

McCord will serve as IMA’s senior vice president and national Marine practice leader. She has spent her 15-year career in marine insurance, with experience in both broking and underwriting.

Homrighaus brings 20 years of energy industry experience to his new role as senior vice president, Energy and Marine. He is a licensed attorney with experience at one of the world’s largest law firms and as in-house counsel for an internationally based energy company.

Allyn Roberts will also hold the role of senior vice president, Energy and Marine. With nearly 20 years in the insurance industry, he brings a wide range of experience that includes marketing, servicing and broking for domestic and international clients.

Admiral Insurance Group Promotes Casualty Leadership

Admiral Insurance Group, a Berkley Company, has promoted Bob Mescher to senior vice president, Casualty, after leading the Mount Laurel, New Jersey Casualty team since 2015.

Ryan Shroyer has been promoted to vice president, Casualty, filling Mescher’s previous role. Mescher has been with the Casualty team at Admiral Insurance Group since 2009.

According to a press release, Mescher “entered the insurance industry training in commercial lines at a leading U.S. property and casualty insurer and has spent his career in insurance underwriting complex Casualty accounts in both the traditional and alternative insurance marketplace.”

Shroyer joined Admiral Insurance Group in 2015 and was “a pioneer in the internship program piloted in Mount Laurel.”

Before joining the Casualty team full-time, Shroyer spent time with the Admiral Insurance Group’s Property and Professional teams as well.

McGriff Hires New Vice President and Marketing Account Executive 

McGriff has hired Lanette Norgan as vice president and marketing account executive for its Energy practice.

Norgan began her insurance career in employee benefits in 2004 with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network before transitioning to Property & Casualty insurance.

In 2012, Norgan joined an energy-focused boutique insurance brokerage firm.

She holds both her CISR and ERIS designations and will be based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Norgan brings to her new role “specialized consultancy, placement, and broker service for clients ranging across various energy sectors,” according to a press release.

Norgan’s responsibilities will also include assisting clients in “streamlining their risk management and insurance programs to fit their strategic objectives,” as noted in the press release.

EPIC Private Client Team Welcomes New Vice President

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, has hired Dan Nieves to join the firm as vice president, private client advisor.

accounts, according to a press release.

“We are pleased to have Dan as part of our team,” said managing principal Steve Nelson. “His expertise will definitely enhance our overall client offering and our ability to advocate for our clients in their best interests.”

Tim Brenneman, president and Private Client practice leader also commented, “Dan is well known as a key partner to our regional private client teams.”

“His tremendous background and experience in designing protection for successful individuals and their families is a welcome addition.”

In his new role at EPIC, Nieves will be responsible for relationship development and enhancement of the private client business segment. &
