IMA Financial Group Appoints Paul Washington to Executive Leadership Team

IMA Financial Group announced the addition of Paul Washington to its executive leadership team as executive vice president.

In this role, Washington will be responsible for oversight of IMA’s corporate partnerships. He will also manage the firm’s technology investment fund and innovations.

Washington brings over 30 years of commercial and public sector leadership experience to IMA. Prior to his appointment, he served as the market director for JJL’s Colorado and Utah operations.

“Our tremendous growth presents an opportunity to elevate our new partners and to drive greater results for our combined organization,” said IMA Financial Group chairman and CEO Rob Cohen.

“Paul’s legal, finance and operational experience, together with his insights into recruiting and onboarding new partnerships, will be an invaluable asset.”

Bowhead Specialty Underwriters Names Lainie Dorneker Head of Health Care

Bowhead Specialty Underwriters (Bowhead) hired Lainie Dorneker as head of health care.

In this role, Dorneker will be responsible for focusing on four liability areas: hospitals, long-term care facilities, miscellaneous facilities and managed care E&O and D&O.

Additionally, she will work to provide management liability solutions to nonprofit health care organizations.

Prior to joining Bowhead, Dorneker served as the president of Ironhealth, the health care liability unit of Ironshore.

“Lainie has an excellent reputation in the healthcare liability industry and is well-known for innovative and prompt solutions,” said David Newman, chief underwriting officer at Bowhead.

CAC Specialty Announces Promotion of Robert Plumb to Executive Vice President

CAC Specialty promoted Robert Plumb to executive vice president and co-head of oil and gas within the natural resources division.

In this role, Plumb will work with Josh Kirklin, who also works in the natural resources division, to lead the practice.

Prior to his promotion, Plumb served as CAC’s senior vice president where he co-founded the energy practice.

Argus Group Names Two Appointees to Board of Directors

Constantinos “Costas” Miranthis, board of directors, Argus

Argus Group Holdings Limited (Argus) announced the appointments of Constantinos “Costas” Miranthis and Garrett Curran to its Board of Directors.

Miranthis is an experienced insurance industry professional who most recently served as the president and CEO of PartnerRe.

Under his leadership, PartnerRe increased its share price within the span of five years. He also currently serves as a non-executive director of Hiscox Ltd. and Pacific Life Re.

Curran brings finance service, technology and real estate experience to his role with Argus. With more than 20 years of investment banking under his belt, he joins Argus’ Board of Directors from Credit Suisse where he served as CEO.

“They bring a wealth of experience as well as expertise in the re/insurance and financial services sectors. EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants Brings on Rob Shepherd as Senior Principal

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants announced the hiring of Rob Shepherd as senior principal of its risk management operations.

In this role, Shepherd will oversee new business development as well as the overall structure of risk management insurance programs for EPIC’s mid-market large clients.

Prior to joining EPIC, Shepherd worked with Willis Towers Watson where he managed both teams of risk management and business professionals.
