Mosaic Welcomes New Underwriting Leadership

Mosaic Insurance has hired insurance market executives Tim Glover and David White to join its London-based team.

As chief underwriting officer, Glover’s new role involves oversight of underwriting activities, portfolio management, claims, reinsurance, pricing and reserving.

White’s role as underwriting director encompasses underwriting portfolio development and governance throughout regional offices.

As EVP, White’s responsibilities will also include underwriting within Mosaic’s syndicated capital management and consortia operations.

Both Glover and White bring over 30 years of experience in the global insurance market to their new roles.

Glover was among the founders of Pembroke Managing Agency and Syndicate 4000, which became a “top quartile-performing Lloyd’s business,” per a press release. When Pembroke was sold to Hamilton Managing Agency in 2019, he became CEO and a member of Hamilton Group’s executive leadership team.

White was one of the founding underwriters of Pembroke Syndicate 4000, “establishing its professional lines division which he ran for a decade,” according to a press release.

He also held various roles with Ironshore and Pembroke Managing Agency, later acquired by Hamilton Group, including head of distribution, chief underwriting officer, and director of the managing agency.

“Tim and David are long-time colleagues who both have stellar track records in this industry, and complete alignment with our team in their vision for the next generation of global specialty insurance,” said Mark Wheeler, co-CEO, Mosaic.

Mitch Blaser, Mosaic co-CEO, views the hiring as “a testament to the high-caliber recruiting” happening at Mosaic. Blaser added, “Tim and David add additional depth and great expertise to our already strong line-up.”

FM Global Names New Chief Officers of Underwriting and Client Experience

FM Global has appointed two of its senior leaders to new roles.

Lyndon D. Broad has been named senior vice president, chief underwriting officer and will manage the company’s underwriting and reinsurance functions. He was formerly operations senior vice president of FM Global in Boston.

David M. Johnson has been named senior vice president, chief client experience officer and will oversee client experience, market relations, marketing and the company’s business risk consulting group. Most recently, he was operations senior vice president of FM Global in Atlanta.

According to a press release, “Broad joined the mutual insurance company in 1995 as a loss prevention consultant in Brisbane, Australia. He then undertook various roles in Seattle, Melbourne, Singapore and the United Kingdom before returning to Melbourne, Australia as claims manager.

Broad went on to head FM Global’s middle market unit, AFM, in Sydney before being appointed vice president and manager of FM Global’s Australian operations.”

Johnson has also been with the company since the 1990’s. He has held several positions in FM Global operations in Seattle, Dallas, Stockholm and Singapore. A specialist in forest products risk management, he began his career in loss prevention.

He went on to assume roles in engineering, client service, operations. His former management roles include regional senior vice president and manager of FM Global’s Asia operations.

One Inc Appoints New Chief Financial Officer

Digital payments network, One Inc, has hired technology industry veteran, David Thayer, as chief financial officer.

Alongside CEO, Ian Drysdale, Thayer will be responsible for guiding One Inc’s future direction and overseeing the company’s financial activities.

Since 2002, Thayer has held numerous senior financial leadership positions at Elavon, a U.S. Bancorp subsidiary. In his most recent role, he was responsible for site operations in Knoxville.

“David has an outstanding record of achievement and has shown to be an instrumental part of helping payments companies maintain sound financial foundation, manage their national and global sites effectively, and ultimately successfully grow their business,” said Drysdale.

“His leadership and long career at Elavon are proof of the talent David will bring to One Inc, and I look forward to working with him closely as we move the company into a new promising phase.” &
