Verne Pedro to Manage Newest Fullerton Beck Office in New Jersey

Verne Pedro, managing attorney, Fullerton Beck LLP, Red Bank, N.J.

New York-based law firm Fullerton Beck opened its first New Jersey office in Red Bank in an effort to expand its geographic presence and insurance coverage practice.

It will be managed by Verne Pedro.

“Our hope was to expand to New Jersey in 2020, but we had to find the ideal attorney — an accomplished lawyer with leadership skills to manage the office and one with a practice and work ethic that complements what we’ve built,” said Katrine Beck, co-founder of Fullerton Beck on Pedro’s hiring.

Pedro has nearly 20 years of experience as an attorney, advising clients on diverse issues from asset protection, insurance coverage and risk transfer, and helping them make informed decisions.

He represents insurance carriers and captive insurers on matters involving property damage, construction defects, environmental, title insurance, personal injury, additional insureds, errors and omissions, Bermuda form policies, professional liability and others.

Ryan Kelly Named Vice President of Business Development, Rising Medical Solutions

Rising Medical Solutions has hired longtime workers’ compensation executive Ryan Kelly as its new vice president of business development.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Kelly will be responsible for directing client acquisition efforts and expanding Rising’s clinical services footprint.

Kelly most recently served as York Risk Services’ vice president of managed care operations. He has also held positions with Healthcare Solutions, CareWorks, Stratacare and Coventry.

“With so much industry consolidation of managed care firms, as well as venture capital infusion, it does not always bode well for payers in terms of service quality and flexibility,” said Kelly.

“I joined Rising because it is one of the few substantial private players remaining, and [its] ability to be completely customer-focused versus investment return-focused really appealed to me.”

“Ryan’s strong operations background gives him firsthand insight into the interventions needed across an injured employee’s health care life cycle,” said Michael Wright, Rising’s national vice president of business development.

“With such industry knowledge, Ryan will provide a very consultative experience for new clients, and I look forward to the ways he will help drive customer value and success.”
