Bluestream, A Platform of Marsh, Names Anita Sathe Global Leader

Marsh, the insurance broker and risk adviser, announced the appointment of Anita Sathe as global leader of Bluestream, its cloud-based digital broker platform for the affinity market and leader of its U.S. affinity business.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Sathe will report to Kevin Tobin, president of Marsh’s Insurance Services Group.

In her role, Sathe will focus on driving affinity and sponsored programs in the U.S. and accelerating the growth and development of the Bluestream platform globally.

She brings more than 15 years of insurance technology, digital distribution, product strategy and insurance experience to the role.

Most recently, Sathe held the role of chief strategy officer for CoverHound. Prior to that, she co-founded CyberPolicy, a digital platform that enables small businesses to digitally quote multiple cyber insurance options with Deloitte Consulting.

JAG Acquires Leo Portes as Chief Insurance Officer

JAG Insurance Group, a Florida-based commercial insurance agency, announced that Leo Portes has joined the firm as chief insurance officer.

Portes’ career traits include a high-level of expertise in claims, litigation and risk management. He will oversee loss prevention for company clients, including the evaluation of risks and minimizing exposure.

Portes brings over two decades of experience in the insurance industry to JAG. He most recently served as claims advocacy senior lead at Alliant Insurance Services.

“His extensive insurance experience provides an ideal platform to manage risk assessment from the perspective of a business owner. Portes has held multiple senior-level positions within the insurance industry, as well as the role if senior risk manager with the University of Miami.

He holds a bachelors degree in business administration from Florida International University.

QBE North America Names Mark Pasko Chief Legal Officer 

QBE North America, an integrated specialist insurer, has announced the appointment of Mark Pasko as chief legal officer, promoted from his previous role as senior vice president and general counsel, business unit support.

Pasko will report jointly to Todd Jones, chief executive officer, and Carolyn Scobie, group general counsel and company secretary.

As a critical member of QBE North America’s executive committee, he will oversee corporate governance, litigation, compliance, regulatory relations, intellectual property and labor and employment law, while anticipating and mitigating risks across the enterprise.

“After executing a very competitive search of both internal and external candidates, we are pleased to recognize Mark’s extensive experience and vital contributions to our organization with this promotion,” said Jones.

Liberty Mutual Insurance Appoints Ben Beauvais to Lead Construction Distribution

Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Ben Beauvais to the newly created position of construction executive, distribution, for Global Risk Solutions.

GRS provides a full range of innovative traditional insurance, specialty and reinsurance risk solutions to businesses globally.

“In his new role, Ben will be pivotal in driving a single, coordinated approach to supporting our brokers and customers in the highly complex construction industry,” said Global Risk Solutions field distribution general manager Marc Orloff.

Beauvais has over 25 years of experience in account management and underwriting. In his role, he will be tasked with meeting the broad and specialized needs of the construction industry and strategically engaging brokers.

Prior to his new role, he served as chief underwriting officer of North America Specialty Casualty, GRS. Prior to that role, he served as a construction industry executive at Ironshore. &
