Aspen Insurance Names New Global Head of Property CAT Reinsurance and International Head of Cyber

Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited appointed Tim Mardon as global head of property catastrophe reinsurance. Mardon will also serve as chief underwriting officer of Aspen Bermuda Limited (ABL) and join Aspen Re’s leadership team.

“We are delighted to welcome Tim Mardon to Aspen Re,” said John Welch, chief underwriting officer of reinsurance. “Tim’s deep sector knowledge and impressive track record make him well placed to lead our global offering.”

Mardon brings over 30 years of reinsurance expertise to the role, having previously served as global head of property reinsurance at SiriusPoint and held senior positions at Chubb Tempest Re and Torus Re. In his new role, Mardon will manage Aspen’s global property catastrophe reinsurance portfolio, oversee business strategy development and execution, and ensure global underwriting standards consistency.

Edward Hart, international head of cyber, Aspen Insurance

From its London office, Aspen has also announced the promotion of Edward Hart to international head of cyber.

Hart joined the organization in February as a senior underwriter, bringing with him a decade of cyber underwriting experience from his time at Brit Insurance and Barbican Insurance Group. Since then, Hart has expanded distribution relationships, attracted top-tier talent and provided valuable insights to the group’s underwriting strategy.

In his new role, Hart will be responsible for advancing the international cyber team, its underwriting strategy and its risk management capabilities.

C3 Risk & Insurance Services Appoints Marife Molina as Executive Vice President of Strategic Revenue

San Diego-based specialty insurance brokerage C3 Risk & Insurance Services appointed Marife Molina as its new executive vice president of strategic revenue.

“Marife is a great culture fit,” said Jamie Reid, chairman of C3 Risk & Insurance Services. “She has a growth mindset, and she brings a fresh perspective coming from the insurer side. We’re thrilled to welcome Marife, and we’re proud to be building an agency that people want to be part of.”

Previously, Molina served as SVP, regional leader of a large multinational insurance carrier’s San Diego and Orange County personal and commercial lines operations. In her new role, she will oversee the development and execution of revenue-generating strategies, identifying new market opportunities, forging key partnerships and optimizing existing revenue channels.

“I’m excited to bring what I’m naturally passionate about to C3, where I have an opportunity to be a part of the leadership team and continue to scale the organization in a meaningful way. It’s an alignment and opportunity I’ve waited my entire career for,” said Molina.

Combined Insurance Promotes Michelle Bryer to Senior Vice President, Chief Operations Officer

Supplemental insurance provider Combined Insurance promoted Michelle Bryer to the role of senior vice president, chief operations officer.

“I am genuinely encouraged to have Michelle step into this important role for our business,” said Richard L. Williams Jr., president of Combined Insurance. “At a time of significant growth and momentum, her appointment as COO is a testament to her leadership and the confidence our team has placed in her.”

Bryer — who previously served as Combined’s senior vice president, claim operations — brings over two decades of claim and enterprise operations experience. According to a press release, she has had a positive impact on Combined’s claim operations over the past two years, enhancing claims processing and increasing automation. In her new role, Bryer will oversee North American operations and its evolving capabilities to support customers, distribution teams and partners.

For over 20 years before joining Combined in 2021, Bryer led several claims operations at Unum Insurance Company, most recently its life and LTC claim operations. &
