Will Thomas-Ferrand to Lead Marsh’s Captive Insurance Business
Will Thomas-Ferrand, International Practice Leader, Marsh Captive Solutions, is set to lead Marsh’s captive insurance business starting January 1, 2025. He will report to Pat Donnelly, President, Marsh Specialty and Global Placement, from his base in London.
Donnelly expressed confidence in Thomas-Ferrand’s appointment, stating, “Will’s knowledge and experience in the captive sector across various geographies, in addition to his unwavering dedication in supporting our captive insurance clients, makes him the ideal person to lead Marsh’s captive business going forward.”
Thomas-Ferrand, a 20-year veteran of Marsh, has held various roles within the firm’s captive business. He previously led Marsh’s captive business in Malta and spent seven years largely working with U.S. clients in Bermuda.
In his new role, Thomas-Ferrand will continue to support the evolution of the global captive insurance industry, which he notes is “gathering pace as more organizations turn to captives to address emerging risks such as climate change and cybersecurity.”
This transition follows the retirement of Ellen Charnley, President of Marsh Captive Solutions, at the end of 2024. Charnley’s leadership saw Marsh’s captive capabilities grow into a global network of experts. Thomas-Ferrand, Charnley, and the leadership team will work closely over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition. &
