In response, The Hartford has established a new Enterprise Strategy Office, appointing Vladimir Stojanovic as EVP to spearhead the initiative.

“Vlad brings a rare combination of strategic vision, operational leadership and deep industry expertise,” said The Hartford’s President Mo Tooker. “His experience building and transforming businesses, advising CEOs and boards, and driving innovation across the insurance value chain position him as an ideal leader for our enterprise-strategy efforts.”

The newly formed Enterprise Strategy Office will serve as The Hartford’s nerve center for strategic planning and innovation. According to Chairman and CEO Christopher Swift, the office “was created to accelerate growth by identifying emerging trends, enhancing products and business models, and furthering our culture of innovation.”

Leveraging Technology

Stojanovic’s mandate encompasses several critical functions. He will oversee trend analysis and competitive intelligence to identify emerging opportunities and disruptive forces shaping the industry.

This involves collaborating across the company’s various businesses and functions to ensure strategic alignment, foster partnerships, and drive continual improvement through what leadership describes as a disciplined, insightsdriven approach.

“My approach leverages cutting edge tech to weave together our deep business insights with external signals, from the insurance market and more broadly, with a relentless focus on customer needs,” Stojanovic said. “I am committed to working with our leaders to uncover new opportunities across the enterprise to deepen our relationships with agents, brokers and customers.”

The office will work closely with The Hartford’s newly formed Enterprise Customer Office, led by chief marketing and customer officer Claire Burns. This dual structure represents complementing forces designed to drive innovation while maintaining focus on customer service excellence.

Stojanovic brings substantial experience to the role, having previously served as chief operating officer at EverPeak Insurance, a subsidiary of Pinnacol Assurance, where he led national expansion and oversaw underwriting, distribution, technology and operations. Prior to that, he spent years as a partner at Oliver Wyman, advising leading insurers and brokers on growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and digital transformation.

“Using our rich data and analytics, we will enhance our ability to prevent losses and deliver better outcomes for our partners and customers,” Stojanovic said.

This data-driven approach represents a significant evolution in how insurers traditionally approach strategic planning. Rather than relying solely on historical patterns or industry benchmarks, the office will employ predictive analytics and real-time market intelligence to identify opportunities before they become widely recognized.

Throughout his career, Stojanovic has worked on more than a hundred insurance projects focused on enhancing processes and improving outcomes. This extensive experience provides him with unique insights into both common industry challenges and innovative solutions that have proven successful across different market segments. &
