Sylvain Bouteillé to Lead Alternative Risk Solutions Team in Americas at AXA XL

AXA XL appointed Sylvain Bouteillé, chief underwriting officer, Specialty, to lead its newly launched Alternative Risk Solutions (ARS) team in the Americas.

The new team centralizes AXA XL’s alternative risk expertise to deliver innovative risk transfer solutions across the US, Canada, and Bermuda. As part of AXA XL’s Large Commercial business segment, the ARS team will initially focus on Captive solutions, including Structured Risk Solutions, Group Captives, and Single Cell Parent Captives.

Bouteillé retains his responsibilities as CUO-Specialty in the Americas. He joined AXA XL in August 2025, bringing more than 30 years of (re)insurance industry experience, with a strong focus on credit risk, multinational programs, and strategic leadership. &
