Matt Roy Appointed as U.S. Chief Operating Officer at Ascot

Matt Roy has been appointed as the U.S. Chief Operating Officer at Ascot, effective from November 18. Roy will report to Ascot Group Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth Johnson, and serve as a key member of the U.S. Senior Leadership team.

“Matt has both the skills and knowledge to make him uniquely qualified to excel in this role,” said Johnson. “He is a trusted leader and colleague at Ascot, where he has built an industry-leading E&S Casualty business unit.”

Roy joined Ascot in 2020 as SVP, Head of E&S Casualty. During his tenure, he expanded the team to 25 risk professionals, launched four products within E&S Casualty, and implemented technology solutions across the group to enable efficient, data-informed underwriting.

In his new role, Roy will align underwriting, operations, and technology across the U.S., designing change initiatives to enhance the company’s operating model. He will ensure the use of common platforms, procedures, and best-in-class processes to support the platform’s business strategy. Prior to Ascot, Roy held positions at AXA XL and Everest Insurance®, beginning his career at Crum & Forster. &
