Dana Hartz Named Associate Vice President of Finance at United Educators

United Educators (UE) has named Dana Hartz as Associate Vice President of Finance, effective Jan. 6.

“Dana brings deep financial leadership experience and insurance insights,” said Sean Barnes, UE’s chief financial officer. “She will help guide UE’s continuing work to meet member needs.”

Hartz joins UE with extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including insurance company filings. She most recently spent nearly 10 years at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including as head of Corporation Finance’s Knowledge Management Office, where she oversaw day-to-day operations, strategy and leadership.

Previously, Hartz served as Director of External Financial Reporting for E*TRADE, a Senior Staff Accountant in the SEC’s Office of Life Sciences and Insurance, and a Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she audited insurance companies. &
