Marsh Broker Philippe Dion Recognized as a 2025 Construction Power Broker
Philippe Dion, Vice President, Marsh
Philippe Dion’s clients are glad to have him on their side as they face an increase in devastating storms and other threats.
Although he boasts a diverse book of clients with varied project types and many different locations, Dion keeps abreast of the unique challenges and risks they each face.
In the past year, Dion placed a loss limit difference in conditions earthquake policy for a client confronting a challenging extension. He provided the client with multiple quotes, discussed the options and bound cover at the needed amount — with a 70% savings.
Clients also credit Dion with persevering.
For a client with a construction project in a wildfire zone, Dion made calls to the U.S. Forest Service and local fire department to provide proof of local firefighting coverage, which resulted in a 60% premium savings for the client.
For another client using a builders risk product that didn’t meet its needs, Dion provided a wood frame master builder’s risk policy for its upcoming risks, providing better coverage and saving the client approximately 12% on rates, which equated to between $150,000 and $250,000 per project, or approximately $800,000 per year.
Clients say Dion is a good listener and is attentive and helpful.
“He speaks the same language as our internal teams and understands their urgencies,” said Marie Claude Le Ber, senior director-insurance and surety bonding for Pomerleau.
