A second-generation insurance broker, Cheryl Karim emphasizes responsiveness when working with her clients, but equally important is her work educating and empowering them to make good risk management decisions.
An example of her proactive approach came this past year when she took over a gallery account from another broker and found deficiencies in the existing fine arts, property and casualty policies.
“Some of the errors included incorrect property locations and significantly underinsured limits, particularly given the high value of the client’s fine art inventory which the old broker never reviewed with them prior to renewals.”
Karim worked to correct data inaccuracies, restructure the policy, and broaden overall coverage. In the end, she believes the client successfully averted “what could have been a multimillion-dollar underinsured loss in the event of a claim.”
The client was thrilled with the result, which only solidified the trust between them.
