Aon Broker Justin Martin Recognized as a 2023 Real Estate Power Broker
Justin Martin, Account Executive, Aon
It’s great when a broker knows how to put themselves in your shoes, but it can be even better if they’ve actually been in your shoes.
Justin Martin spent 12 years working in real estate, so he knows his clients’ businesses like they are his own.
“He has worked within management companies and operators prior to becoming a broker, so he has that skill set and experience from those roles and his work history,” said Justin Sato, president of Veritas Investments Inc.
“To be able to understand it from an operational perspective and then translate that into risk transfer, risk protection, is really extremely helpful.”
Sato continued, “From the operator’s perspective, you’re not constantly trying to explain why this is important or what happens or even to represent your business fairly to the market. And when the market has concerns, he can generally speak to it, because he understands how it is and our perspective and how we approach things, because he’s been on that side of the table.”
But all that insider industry knowledge wouldn’t count for much if it didn’t benefit his customers.
“He has been invaluable in terms of both his knowledge of the business, even just understanding our business, and being able to give us recommendations based on a retail business versus another industry,” said Tracy Kenworthy, VP, finance at World Market LLC.
“He’s been exceptionally proactive in helping us build our program … He’s been outstanding.”
