David Carter is the chief strategic officer for Sompo International, North America. David joined Sompo International in January 2020. He has over 37 years experience in the Property and Casualty industry, specializing in middle market, specialty and financial products. He has held various underwriting and leadership positions at Aetna, Travelers and The Hartford. While at the Hartford, he was the Executive Vice President and head of the middle Market and Financial Products Group. Most recently, he served as the Chief Insurance Officer of an Insuretech startup. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
