Alliant Insurance Services Welcomes Martin Khalaf as Senior Vice President, Alliant Americas Division

Martin Khalaf recently joined Alliant Insurance Services, serving as senior vice president within Alliant Americas, a division based in San Diego, California.

“Martin’s proficiency in risk assessment, mitigation and management enables him to serve as a trusted partner in helping clients achieve their goals and maintain safe, successful and sustainable operations,” said Bob Bennetsen, executive vice president and senior managing director with Alliant. “His addition further strengthens our team in California and expands our capabilities within the region.”

Khalaf, an experienced risk advisor with a broad industry focus, will leverage his expertise in property and casualty insurance, risk management and safety to provide comprehensive solutions to clients across the West Coast. Prior to joining Alliant, Khalaf served as senior vice president within the San Diego office of a global insurance brokerage and consulting firm.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from San Diego State University and a master’s in finance from the University of Redlands.

McGriff Promotes Brandon McCosh and Shane Sumrall to National Directors in Risk Services Division

Retail insurance broker McGriff has promoted Brandon McCosh to national director of risk control, and Shane Sumrall to national director of claims.

“Both Brandon and Shane are well established and well respected leaders within the McGriff organization,” said Carolyn Littlefield, director of strategic projects at McGriff. “We are confident that they will continue to deliver on the high standards of excellence that define their respective teams and play a vital role in McGriff’s future success.”

McCosh, who joined McGriff’s risk services division in 2017, brings over 25 years of risk management, risk control and organizational leadership experience. In his new role, he will lead McGriff’s risk management team to provide consultative solutions for clients across McGriff’s diverse industry segments.

Sumrall, a member of McGriff since 2008, has held several claims leadership roles. As a licensed attorney, he will focus on building proficient teams that can effectively address the immediate needs of McGriff’s clients during claims events and realign the firm’s claim resources.

Aon Bolsters Its Climate Risk Advisory Practice with an Expanded Team

Aon recently expanded its climate risk advisory function across the firm’s risk capital capability and promoted leaders from within the organization to new roles. Liz Henderson, global head of climate risk advisory for risk capital, will continue at the helm.

Alongside Henderson, Will Bruce, previously climate consulting leader for Aon’s global risk consulting, now serves as global head of consulting. Megan Hart is now the global head of analytics and collaborations. Dan Raizman has stepped into the role of global head of client engagement.

“The expansion of Climate Risk Advisory is integral to our commitment to scale innovation across advanced risk analytics, leveraging our firm’s deep experience in delivering data, technology and expertise,” said Paul Shedden, head of advanced risk analytics for risk capital at Aon. “Liz and her growing team are skilled advisors on how organizations can adopt, interpret, translate and implement climate data into existing workflows and business decisions, providing a true differentiator as our clients navigate emerging volatility.”

WTW Appoints Diego Ventosa Dünwald as Energy and Infrastructure Growth Leader, Natural Resources

Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has appointed Diego Ventosa Dünwald as energy and infrastructure growth leader, natural resources, based in North America with a global focus on Latin America.

“I am delighted that Diego is joining our NA natural resources team,” said Bill Helander, head of natural resources at WTW North America. “His wealth of experience working throughout the world will be hugely beneficial as we drive our global specialty growth agenda forward.”

Dünwald brings over 23 years of industry experience, having worked extensively with companies in the renewable and conventional power, oil and gas, and private equity sectors. Prior to joining WTW, he served as CEO of energy, Latin America and Caribbean at Lockton, where he delivered significant growth in the energy and private equity space. He also spent over 20 years at Marsh in various roles, including global sales leader for energy and power. &
