One Call Recognizes Limb Loss Awareness Month, Provides Insight into Recovery and Rehab Process for Amputees

The Amputee Coalition has designated April as National Limb Loss Awareness Month. According to the Amputee Coalition, there are 2.1 million people in the U.S. living with limb loss and 185,000 Americans lose a limb each year which equates to approximately 507 new limb loss cases each day. Forty-five percent of limb loss cases result from some kind of trauma and 16,000 to 21,000 of amputations per year result from work related injuries.
